Painting a Sci-Fi Desert Scene
Working hard is good, working efficiently is better, working hard and efficiently is the best. This tutorial is a study based on the legendary concept artist ''Ralph McQuarrie''. We not only try to capture the essence of the original artwork but use additional references and underlying knowledge in order to start thinking like a designer. The intention is to increase your raw painting skills while tackling the crucial skills (composition, shape extraction, colors, brush economy) which every concept artist needs to display with confidence and which I am showing here from start to finish.

- 1 hour and 40 minutes real time demo from start to finish with supporting thinking process, pointers and explanation
- the PSD and PNG file, MAX res
- A folder of reference which was used to make this study
- Serves as a rudimentary warm up for our in depth classes at Focal Point School
